Wildschool Principles:

  1. Learning Through Play

Play is the most meaningful way young children learn. Our days are slow, child-led, and rich with open-ended materials that invite imagination, problem-solving, and deep engagement.

  2. Nature is our Classroom

The seasons, weather, and land guide our rhythm and curriculum. We spend most of our time outdoors, nurturing children’s connection to the natural world, their bodies, and their sense of wonder.

  3. Appreciation and Respect for Each Individual Child

We view each child as capable, whole, and worthy of dignity. We move slowly, listen carefully, and avoid rushing development, trusting children’s individual timelines and voices.

  4. Small Groups, Deep Connection

Our high educator-to-child ratio allows for strong attachments and individualized support, ensuring every child is cared for.

  5. Risk is Beneficial

We believe in the importance of risky play for confidence and resilience. Children are supported to climb, balance, build, and explore safely while learning to trust their bodies and judgment.

  6. Family as Partners

Parents are an integral part of our community. Through open communication, shared celebrations, and opportunities for involvement, we build a strong, collaborative community around each child.
